The point of T4 is making it seamless and wearing other armors (T3m to T6M/Z) not designed for it makes it pointless although you can still use them. If by incompatible meaning neck seams and or wrist gaps then you are right. Type 4 looks interesting, but I don't think it's compatible with clothing mods that weren't made for type 4.
